1. Information Collection and Use

BTC Badge is designed with privacy in mind and operates with minimal data collection. The extension only retrieves publicly available Bitcoin market and on-chain summary data to display BTC price, MVRV Z-score, and Pi multiple in your browser's toolbar.

2. Data Storage

We use Chrome's storage API solely for:

• Storing your display preferences (which metric is pinned to the badge)
• Temporarily caching price, MVRV, and OHLC-derived Pi values locally to minimize API calls

All preference and cache data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to external servers beyond the public data requests described below.

3. Permissions

BTC Badge requires minimal permissions to function:

• Host access to public data APIs (Coinbase, mempool.space, Kraken, CoinPaprika, bitcoin-data.com): to fetch price and on-chain metrics
• Storage: to save your preferences and cache locally
• Alarms: to refresh the badge on a schedule

4. Third-Party Services

We interact only with public endpoints from Coinbase, mempool.space, Kraken, CoinPaprika, and bitcoin-data.com (BGeometrics). No personal information is shared with these or any other third-party service. No API keys are embedded in the extension.

5. Updates to Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy as needed. Significant changes will be communicated through the Chrome Web Store and this page.
